We know what champions did. We rarely know what made it possible. The Unexpected Champion returns extraordinary people to the conditions that shaped them; the people, places, pressures, failures and choices that disappeared once the ending became known. We bring those conditions back into the room and ask a different question: How did this person become possible? This isn’t a career retrospective. It’s a return.

The series Aaj officially and independently explores the case of Mohammad Bijeh and the crimes that took place in Pakdasht. Blending documentary and drama, the series features actors alongside reenactments of some of the events.
